Deanswood Design was established in 2019 by Holly Dowding who has professional experience in several sectors that include the arts, hospitality and corporate environments.
Having direct interaction and experience with a variety of audiences gives Deanswood Design a unique insight into their values and inclinations. An understanding of audience is essential to creating good design - effective design.
Holly began her adult life as a passionate ballet dancer. She studied at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School where her mind was opened to an abundance of creative opportunities.
Her personal and professional goals lead her to RMIT where she studied Fine Art, after which a career in design and communication became the number one goal.
She designed the interior and developed the identity and branding of intimate bar, Horses, on Brunswick Street Fitzroy (2015) and has experience solving a variety of design challenges for small businesses.
Most recently she put her keen eye to use in Design at Warwick Fabrics Pty Ltd and left to begin her Deanswood Design journey where her values and environmentally conscious business practice can be fully realised.
“We have to accept that much of reality is ineffable and so to understand it we can't rely on words alone.”
